The Remote Advanced Playback Unit (RAPU) is a playback system for motion and audio playback. Upload routines and animations perfected with VSA to the RAPU and eliminate the bulky PC or laptop. The RAPU is desinged to maintain the high-fidelity motion and audio synchronization, but in a portable, low-power, and easily deployable system.
The RAPU is offered both as an Android App (software-only) and as a device (hardware and software). If you have an Android 9 (API level 28) or later device, you can download the RAPU v6.0 Android App and simply plug in your USB devices. The Google Pixel, HardKernel ODROID-N2+, BLU C5 Max, and Motorola moto g Pure are just a few of the devices that can now power your shows with the RAPU.
The RAPU is also available preloaded on a embedded, turnkey device. You do not need to provide your own Android device. Instead, the RAPU v6.0 Android App is pre-installed on a Raspberry Pi 4 running Android. You can operate the RAPU over Wi-Fi or plug in a monitor and keyboard.
The RAPU v6.0 can control up to 64 devices by directly connecting a USB LynxMotion SSC32U, Pololu Maestro Micro/Mini 12/18/24, or ENTTEC DMX to the USB/USB-OTG port. Or, connect an FTDI-compatible USB-to-serial converter and control legacy serial devices such as MiniSSC-compatible servos.
The RAPU v6.0 is fully supported in VSA v6.0 . The audio and device data are stored in a .rapu6 file on the device's internal memory. Identical to VSA playback, the RAPU plays audio synchronized with the servo, relay, dimmer, etc. commands.
